Please join us tonight, October 14th, as we welcome back Andrew Burke, a local documentary filmmaker from BikeFilms.TV. We will also be taking a look at some of the big changes that Adobe has brought to the table with the upcoming release of their video production applications in CS4.
Andrew will be introducing the P2 Card and the MXF format video that is recorded to them. One big advantage of adopting this new technology is metadata, the other is speed of transferring. He will then introduce the ShotPut P2 software from Imagine Products Inc., which helps organize the P2 Card contents (MXF).
We'll connect a P2 camera to an iMac, along with a portable hard drive and show off the performance power and discuss exactly how this benefits you in the field and in your workflows. Andrew will go over transferring video using Leopard alone, and then using the ShotPut P2 app. And we'll open up Final Cut Pro's Log and Transfer window to show how ShotPut P2's organization helps us to edit.
This is going to be a great session and we will all have a chance to see this new technology in action. Having the opportunity to experience the comparisons live and have a knowledgeable pro to answer your questions will hopefully help you approach your decision making with more confidence as you transition your projects to HD and tapeless workflows.
And to make this session even better, we will be raffling off a copy of the new ShotPut software technology we will be showcasing. One lucky person will walk away a winner and will have the choice between ShotPut Express for Sony EX, ShotPut RED Edition for RED, or ShotPut P2 Edition for P2. This is one meeting you don't want to miss!
Again, this meeting will take place tonight from 6:30-8:30 PM in the MacForce Theater. MacForce is located at 100 SE Salmon Portland, OR 97214. This is a free event, and guests are encouraged to attend. MacForce is open until 9:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday nights for your convenience. We hope to see you all there.
